Terms and conditions
By using the Drive in a Clean Air Zone (CAZ) service you indicate that you accept these terms and conditions and agree to abide by them.
Who we are
The Drive in a Clean Air Zone service is operated by the Joint Air Quality Unit (JAQU), a team established jointly between the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Department for Transport (DfT).
Using Drive in a Clean Air Zone
If you combine Drive in a Clean Air Zone service data with additional information that enables the identification of a living individual, you will assume responsibility for compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
Privacy Notice
JAQU does not have access to the personal information of the users of this service. JAQU does not share information provided by users of this service with any third party. Read the Privacy Notice.
Accuracy of data
JAQU shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that the data is accurate and up to date before it is transmitted. JAQU cannot provide guarantees, conditions or warranties as to the accuracy of the data provided. All data is presumed as accurate at the time of use. JAQU does not accept any liability for changes to the data that may affect the charge due to a user.
Incidents
You shall notify JAQU immediately of any loss or misuse of the data and keep JAQU informed.
You shall be responsible for taking any action necessary to resolve any such incident and will take all necessary steps to ensure the incident is not repeated. The Drive in a Clean Air Zone service can be contacted via our Clean Air Support team between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 Monday to Friday or through our webform.
Termination
JAQU reserves the right to withdraw the Drive in a Clean Air Zone service at any point.
Continuity of service
Where possible, JAQU will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that there is no break in the continuity of service and will only make changes when required. Outages may be required on occasions where essential upgrades to the service need to be implemented.
Disclaimer
JAQU does not accept liability for loss or damage incurred by users of the Drive in a Clean Air Zone service whether direct, indirect or consequential, whether caused by tort, breach of contract or otherwise, in connection with our Drive in a Clean Air Zone service its use, the inability to use, or results of the use of our service, any websites linked to it and any materials posted on it.
This includes loss of:
- income or revenue
- business
- profits or contracts
- anticipated savings
- data
- goodwill
- tangible property
- wasted management or office time

Virus protection: JAQU will make every effort to check and test material at all stages of production. However, you must take your own precautions to ensure that the process you employ for accessing the Drive in a Clean Air Zone service does not expose you to the risk of viruses, malicious computer code or other forms of interference which may damage your own computer system.
JAQU does not accept responsibility for any loss, disruption or damage to your data or your computer system which may occur whilst using material derived from the Drive in a Clean Air Zone service.
Viruses, hacking and other offences
You will not misuse the Drive in a Clean Air Zone service by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful.

By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will cooperate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them.
Severability
If any of these terms and conditions are held to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal for any reason, the remaining terms and conditions shall nevertheless continue in full force.
Events beyond JAQU's control
JAQU accepts no liability for any failure to comply with these terms and conditions where such failure is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If JAQU waives any rights available to it under these terms and conditions on one occasion, this does not mean that those rights will automatically be waived on any other occasion.
Changes to these terms and conditions
Check these terms and conditions regularly. We can update them at any time without notice.
You’ll agree to any changes if you continue to use Drive in a Clean Air Zone after the terms and conditions have been updated.
